Cooperatives in Action: Training Programs Mark Cooperative Month 2025 Celebration

Every year, we celebrate the principles and values of cooperatives and promote the cooperative movement in accordance with Republic Act No. 11502, which declares the month of October as National Cooperative Month.

For 2025, the celebration carries the theme “Cooperatives United in Purpose and Action, Sharing Prosperity to Build a Better World.” The theme highlights the collective strength and unity of cooperatives in driving inclusive growth and social progress. It emphasizes that by working together with a shared vision and coordinated action, cooperatives can create lasting positive change within communities.

Guided by the spirit of solidarity and collaboration, the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA), in partnership with the Local Government of Malasiqui through the Municipal Agriculture Office, and the Provincial Population, Cooperative, and Livelihood Development Office (PPCLDO) of the LGU-Pangasinan, conducted a series of mandatory training sessions for cooperatives.

The mandatory training on Fundamentals of Cooperatives’ was held on September 18-19, 2025, while the session on Governance and Management of Cooperatives’ took place on October 8-9, 2025. Both were conducted at the Conference Hall of the Municipal Hall of Malasiqui, Pangasinan.

The conduct of these initiatives is highly relevant to the celebration of Cooperative Month, as they embody the very principles of unity, education, and shared prosperity that cooperatives stand for. By strengthening the knowledge and capacities of cooperative members and leaders, these activities contribute to more effective governance, sustainable operations, and inclusive growth within communities. Aligned with the 2025 theme, “Cooperatives United in Purpose and Action, Sharing Prosperity to Build a Better World,” the events serve as a testament to the continued commitment of cooperatives to empower people and advance collective progress.
