GMC Training and Compliance Caravan Strengthen Cooperatives in Pagudpud

A two-day capacity-building activity on the Governance and Management of Cooperatives was successfully conducted on March 25–26, 2026, at the SK Building in Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte. The initiative aimed to enhance the leadership competencies of cooperative officers while reinforcing compliance with regulatory requirements.

The activity was facilitated by the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) Ilocos Norte Developmental Team composed of Ms. Rosievic R. Medina and Mr. Richard Gacisan, in partnership with Ms. Rizza Mae Ventura of LGU Pagudpud, and Mr. May Damaso Pascua and Ms. Lorna Lubera from the Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte.

A total of 51 cooperative officers representing eight (8) different cooperatives actively participated in the Governance and Management training. The sessions focused on strengthening organizational leadership, improving decision-making processes, and ensuring adherence to cooperative principles and sound management practices.

Conducted simultaneously was the Compliance Caravan cum Cooperative Localized Assistance Support Program (CLASP), attended by eight (8) cooperatives represented by their Compliance Officers. The initiative provided technical assistance in the preparation and submission of mandatory reports. Notably, some cooperatives were able to submit their required reports during the activity, highlighting the effectiveness of the on-site support.

The program aimed to promote awareness of reportorial requirements, assist in compliance with CDA regulations, strengthen partnerships, and prevent penalties through timely submissions.

The activity perfectly reflected the quotation, “Coming together is a beginning, staying together is progress, and working together is success.” — Henry Ford, as it showcased the strong collaboration among the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA), LGU Pagudpud, and the Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte in fostering well-governed and compliant cooperatives.
