The Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) conducted a two-day inspection of the Malaybalay City Credit Surety Fund Cooperative (MCCSFC) on April 13–14, 2026 in Malaybalay City, Bukidnon. The activity was led by Ian Dave U. Alindajao, Senior Cooperative Development Specialist, CDA Head Office – Inspection and Examination Division; Nizar R. Pangalian, Senior Cooperative Development Specialist, CDA Region X Extension Office – CSF Section; and Gian Erco W. Cayanong, Cooperative Development Specialist II, CDA Region X Extension Office – CSF Section, in coordination with the officers of the cooperative through Ms. Venus P. Lubguban, Chairperson. The inspection formed part of CDA’s mandate to check whether CSF cooperatives are ready and compliant with the requirements for proper operations.
The inspection aimed not only to review the records and documents of the cooperative, but also to provide timely guidance as Malaybalay City CSF Cooperative prepares for the expected resumption of its operations in the coming months. During the two-day visit, the inspection team assisted the cooperative in checking its important records, reports, policies, and other requirements needed for a smooth and compliant operation. Through this process, the cooperative was able to better understand what has already been accomplished, what areas still need improvement, and what steps must be taken to move forward with readiness and confidence.
More importantly, the activity showed the value of inspection as both a regulatory function and a form of technical assistance. It gave the cooperative a clearer direction on how to become more organized, prepared, and ready to serve again. With this successful inspection, Malaybalay City CSF Cooperative moves a step closer to becoming operational, which is expected to support cooperatives in Malaybalay City through the improved access to credit support under the CSF program. The activity reflects the shared commitment of CDA and the cooperative to move toward readiness, compliance, and renewed service for the benefit of the cooperative sector in the city.
