2nd Region XI Coconut Farmers Cooperatives’ Summit 2026
“Coco-Transformation 2026: Modernizing Supply Chains, Innovating Markets, and Securing Cooperative Prosperity”
The Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) Region XI Extension Office successfully brought together 323 coconut farmers, cooperatives, government agencies, and development partners during the 2nd Region XI Coconut Farmers Cooperatives’ Summit held on July 28–29, 2026, at the SMX Convention Center, SM Lanang Premier, Davao City. The two-day summit provided a meaningful platform for learning, collaboration, partnership-building, and sharing of best practices to strengthen coconut farmers’ cooperatives and support a more competitive, resilient, and sustainable coconut industry in the Davao Region.
The first day opened with the Trade Fair and Exhibit, where 30 exhibitors showcased various coconut-based and value-added products. The trade fair, in partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), created opportunities for market linkages and business transactions, generating an aggregate sale of ₱47,607,440.00 from on-site transactions and business matching activities. The summit proper followed with presentations and discussions on the coconut industry, supply chain development, cooperative strengthening, and market opportunities. The day also featured the Coco Culinary Experience, where chefs demonstrated different coconut-based dishes, desserts, pastries, and beverages, highlighting the versatility of coconut and its potential for value addition and entrepreneurship. The activities continued with the much-awaited Farmers’ Night, which brought participants together for fellowship and celebration. It featured a lively musical performance, a yelling competition, and other fun-filled activitess.
The second day focused on empowering cooperatives through innovation, enterprise development, technology, and stronger market linkages. Among the highlights were the presentation of Cooperative Success Stories, where 12 cooperatives showcased their journey, achievements, and good practices; discussions on the Philippine Agricultural Cooperatives Ecosystem and Agricultural Cooperative Development Framework (ACDF); and the Packaging Workshop and Competition, where provincial groups presented their coconut-based products and packaging concepts. The participants also learned about cybersecurity in agriculture and opportunities under the Sagip Saka Act and FFEDIS Registration, further equipping cooperatives to participate in the digital economy and government markets.
One of the most anticipated highlights was the Best CFC Story Contest, which recognized cooperatives that demonstrated innovation, resilience, good governance, and meaningful contributions to their communities.

The prizes served not only as recognition but also as encouragement for coconut farmers’ cooperatives to continue developing innovative, sustainable, and community-focused programs.

The two-day summit ended with a strong message of unity, cooperation, innovation, and shared responsibility for the future of the coconut industry. It highlighted that stronger cooperatives can help create better opportunities for farmers through value addition, market access, technology, good governance, and partnerships. The activity concluded with a group photo and a lively cultural dance send-off, leaving participants with new ideas, stronger connections, and a renewed commitment to building a more productive, resilient, and prosperous coconut industry in Region XI.
