USEP Law Student Practitioners Attend Orientation on Cooperative Code at CDA Davao

Davao City, August 7, 2025 — Law student practitioners (LSPs) from the University of Southeastern Philippines (USEP) School of Law attended an orientation on the Philippine Cooperative Code as part of their internship with the Legal Unit of the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) Davao Regional Office.

Held at the CDA Building in Davao City, the orientation introduced the students to the fundamentals of cooperative law and the role of the CDA in regulating and promoting cooperatives across the country.

The CDA legal unit spearheaded by Atty. Earl D.F. Larroder through Ms. Jambalaya Maceda, CDS II for Legal Unit briefed the interns on the agency’s quasi-judicial functions, legal processes, and the significance of legal compliance in cooperative operations. The activity also marked the start of the students’ internship, where they will be immersed in handling legal research, case reviews, and cooperative dispute resolution.

The partnership aims to enhance the practical legal skills of the student practitioners while deepening their understanding of social justice and economic development through cooperativism.
