CDA XII Recognizes Exemplary Cooperatives and Development Champions at Parangal 2025

The Cooperative Development Authority Regional Office XII successfully hosted Parangal 2025, a prestigious recognition ceremony that celebrated outstanding cooperatives and individuals who demonstrated exceptional commitment to the cooperative movement. The  event took place on October 22, 2025, at Paraiso Verde in the City of Koronadal, bringing together cooperative leaders, government officials, and stakeholders from across the region.

Ms, Juriski B. Mangelen, Acting Regional Director of CDA XII, delivered the welcome and opening message, warmly greeting all attendees and emphasizing the importance of recognizing excellence within the cooperative sector. Her remarks highlighted the vital role that cooperatives play in promoting inclusive economic growth and social development in the region.

The event was further enriched by messages of support from distinguished guests who expressed their unwavering commitment to the cooperative movement. ASec. Myrla B. Paradillo, Board Member III and Head of the Public Utilities Cluster, spoke about the role of cooperatives in providing essential services to communities. She highlighted how cooperatives have been instrumental in ensuring access to basic services, particularly in underserved areas. ASec. Paradillo commended the cooperatives under her cluster for their dedication to service excellence and their commitment to serving their member-consumers with integrity and efficiency. ASec. Vergel Hilario, Board Member III and Head of the Human Services Cluster, delivered a heartfelt message focusing on the social dimension of cooperative work. He emphasized how cooperatives transform lives by providing affordable and accessible services to their members.

The pinnacle of the event was the awarding of plaques ceremony. This segment of the program recognized cooperatives who had excelled and distinguished themselves in their respective categories. The awards acknowledged various levels of achievement, with cooperatives being recognized according to the categories of awards they had earned through their outstanding performance and contribution to the sector.

Special citations were presented to performing cooperatives that demonstrated exceptional operational efficiency, member service, and community impact. These cooperatives served as exemplary models for others in the sector, showcasing best practices and innovative approaches to cooperative management and development.

The activity also honored partner academic institutions that have played a crucial role in advancing cooperative education and research. These institutions were recognized for their valuable contributions to building the capacity of cooperative leaders and members through training programs, research initiatives, and academic partnerships.

Recognition was likewise extended to Cooperative Development Officers who worked tirelessly at the grassroots level to organize, register, and develop cooperatives. These dedicated individuals were acknowledged for their invaluable service in promoting cooperative values and principles, providing technical assistance, and supporting cooperatives in their development journey.

Cooperative Development Councils at various levels were also recognized for their instrumental role in coordinating cooperative development efforts, facilitating inter-cooperative cooperation, and serving as bridges between cooperatives and government agencies. Their contributions to policy advocacy and sector representation were duly acknowledged during the ceremony.

The program concluded with closing remarks delivered by Mr. Mark Ian G. Caseres, CPA, Sr. CDS and Acting Supervising CDS of CDA XII. In his closing message, Mr. Caseres expressed gratitude to all the awardees and participants who made Parangal 2025 a success. He encouraged all cooperatives to continue striving for excellence and to remain true to the cooperative principles and values that have guided the movement for generations.

Parangal 2025 proved to be more than just an awards ceremony; it was a powerful affirmation of the cooperative sector’s resilience, innovation, and unwavering commitment to serving communities. The event successfully brought together the cooperative community in a spirit of celebration and solidarity, inspiring all participants to continue working toward a stronger, more vibrant cooperative movement in Region XII.
