The Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) – Caraga Region once again achieved a remarkable feat with the triumphant staging of the 6th Regional Cooperative Congress, hosted by the City Cooperative Development Office of Tandag City, on October 15–17, 2025, at the EDM Convention Center, Rosario, Tandag City, Surigao del Sur. The event stood as a testament to the region’s growing cooperative movement and unwavering spirit of collaboration.
The three-day event brought together cooperative leaders, development partners, government agencies, and stakeholders from across the region under the theme “Strengthening Cooperatives for a Resilient and Inclusive Future.” The congress served as a vital platform for learning, collaboration, and recognition of the invaluable role cooperatives play in promoting economic growth and social development.
Regional Director Honeya R. Alawi of CDA Caraga led the opening ceremonies, highlighting the agency’s continued commitment to empowering cooperatives as catalysts for inclusive progress. “This congress is not only a celebration of our collective achievements but also a reaffirmation of our unity and strength as a cooperative movement,” she emphasized in her keynote address.
Throughout the congress, participants engaged in plenary sessions, learning forums, and breakout discussions that tackled pressing issues such as sustainability, innovation, digital transformation, and cooperative governance. The event also featured exhibits of cooperative products, investment opportunities, and success stories that inspired collaboration and growth.
The event concluded with renewed enthusiasm and a shared commitment to advancing cooperative ideals. Delegates expressed their gratitude to the CDA Caraga Regional Office, the Provincial Government of Surigao del Sur, and all partner institutions for the well-organized and meaningful gathering.
