Puerto Princesa City, Palawan (CDA) – – More than a hundred cooperative leaders and members from across the country convened at the 4th CMPL Coop National Summit held from September 11 to 13, 2025, at the scenic Citystate Asturias Hotel in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan.
With the theme “Advancing Innovation for Competitive and Resilient CMPL Cooperatives,” the summit provided a dynamic platform for collaboration, learning, and strategic planning among cooperatives in the Consumers, Marketing, Producers, and Logistics (CMPL) sector.
Organized by the Sectoral Apex Organization of the Consumers, Marketing, Producers, and Logistics Cooperatives cluster (SAO-CMPL), in partnership with the CMPL Coop Movement and the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA), the event aimed to foster innovation, enhance competitiveness, and build resilience within the cooperative sector.
Participants, including delegates from Region 2 and various parts of the Philippines, engaged in a series of plenary sessions, workshop discussions, and benchmarking activities designed to improve organizational practices, and address challenges faced by CMPL cooperatives.
The three-day event also emphasized capacity-building and leadership development, highlighting the need for continuous learning and cooperation in a dynamic economic landscape.
As the cooperative movement continues to play a crucial role in local development, this year’s CMPL National Summit reaffirmed the sector’s commitment to innovation, resilience, and inclusive growth. (JCC/ALC/CDA Region II)
