In a noteworthy move to strengthen the Municipal Cooperative Development Council (MCDC), the Municipality of Jones, Isabela, and the Municipality of Claveria, Cagayan, successfully held their respective re-organizational meetings on August 28 and 29, 2025.  The event brought together leaders and representatives from various local cooperatives and members of the council, all joined in their commitment to fostering a vibrant and resilient cooperative sector.

The meeting was a testament to the strong support for cooperative development in the region, with the presence of key officials, Mr. Rowell Tutaan, Municipal Cooperative Development Officer (MCDO) of Jones, Isabela and Ms. Maria Gracia Tungpalan, Senior Cooperative Development Specialist from the Provincial Cooperatives Livelihood and Enterprise Development Office (PCLEDO) of Isabela, Mr. Dante A. Castillo, MCDO of Claveria and Mr. Christopher Y. Corral, Supervising Cooperative Development Specialist from the Provincial Cooperative Development Office (PCDO) of Cagayan, who attended and provided their support.

The MCDC’s role is more crucial and is not just a council; this is a collective force for progress whose main goal is to create an environment where cooperatives can contribute meaningfully to the lives of the members and to the community.

This re-organizational meeting was a testament to the principles of democratic participation that are at the heart of the cooperative movement, and look forward to a period of renewed collaboration, innovation, and sustainable development.
