In celebration of the 2026 International Day of Cooperatives, the Cooperative Development Authority Region III Extension Office successfully conducted an Online Learning Forum on July 4, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, bringing together cooperative stakeholders to deepen their understanding of the vital role of cooperatives in promoting peace, inclusive development, and nation-building.
The activity formally opened with the Rationale delivered by Regional Director Marieta P. Hwang, who highlighted the significance of the International Day of Cooperatives and reaffirmed the cooperative movement’s enduring contribution to sustainable and people-centered development.
The forum featured PLTCOL. Karl Marlo S. Sanchez, who discussed the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) and emphasized the role of cooperatives as partners in fostering resilient, empowered, and peaceful communities.
To conclude the activity, Ms. Carolina M. Miguel, Supervising Cooperative Development Specialist, delivered the Closing Message, encouraging cooperatives and Cooperative Development Officers to continue championing good governance, community participation, and inclusive economic development.
The program was facilitated by Mr. Brian John C. Mendoza, Cooperative Development Specialist II, who served as the moderator throughout the event.
As we celebrate this year’s International Day of Cooperatives, CDA Region III Extension Office remains steadfast in advancing the cooperative movement as a powerful force for social transformation, economic empowerment, and lasting peace.
