On January 19, 2026, the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) conducted REVALIDA, a nationwide comprehensive competency assessment for all regulatory personnel, marking another significant step toward strengthening professional excellence within the cooperative sector. This vital initiative aims to ensure that CDA inspectors and examiners across the country are fully equipped with the knowledge, skills, and ethical standards necessary to effectively regulate and support cooperatives.
The CDA MIMAROPA Region actively participated in the nationwide conduct of REVALIDA, with all Cooperative Development Specialists II (CDS II) from the region taking part in the assessment. Their full participation demonstrated CDA MIMAROPA’s strong commitment to continuous learning, institutional accountability, and the delivery of quality public service to cooperatives under its jurisdiction.
REVALIDA served as a comprehensive evaluation of regulatory competencies, covering key areas such as Cooperative Fundamentals, Ethics and Values, Legal and Regulatory Frameworks, and Cooperative Accounting. These core areas are critical to ensuring sound cooperative governance, financial integrity, and compliance with existing laws and policies. Through this standardized assessment, the CDA seeks to harmonize competencies nationwide and promote consistency in regulatory practices across all regions.
Beyond measuring technical knowledge, REVALIDA also reinforces the importance of ethical conduct, professionalism, and integrity among regulatory personnel. By ensuring that inspectors and examiners meet uniform competency standards, the CDA strengthens public trust in the cooperative regulatory system and enhances the overall credibility of the cooperative movement.
Through its active participation in REVALIDA, CDA MIMAROPA reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to excellence, transparency, and good governance. The region’s regulatory personnel are better positioned to provide effective guidance, monitoring, and assistance to cooperatives, empowering them to become resilient, inclusive, and sustainable drivers of local economic development.
The successful participation of all CDS II reflects CDA MIMAROPA’s readiness to adapt to evolving regulatory challenges and its dedication to supporting cooperatives as vital partners in nation-building. As the cooperative movement continues to grow, initiatives such as REVALIDA ensure that those entrusted with its oversight remain competent, credible, and responsive to the needs of the sector.
