Despite the observance of Semana Santa, the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) – MIMAROPA Region remained committed to serving the cooperative sector through the successful conduct of the Online Required Training for Cooperatives from April 1 to 4, 2026.
The four-day online training was designed to support cooperatives that needed to complete their mandatory training requirements. The activity was divided into two important modules: Fundamentals of Cooperative, conducted on April 1–2, 2026, and Cooperative Governance and Management, conducted on April 3–4, 2026. Through these sessions, participants were provided with essential knowledge on cooperative principles, governance, leadership responsibilities, and effective management practices that are crucial for the growth and sustainability of their organizations.
What made the activity even more meaningful was that it was conducted during the Holy Week period. While many institutions paused their operations during this time, CDA MIMAROPA continued to extend its services for the benefit of cooperatives that urgently needed training. This reflects the agency’s dedication to ensuring that cooperatives receive the support they need, especially those that rely on the timely completion of mandatory trainings for their operations and compliance.
The training sessions were facilitated by Ms. Eva Loraine R. Cataje, Senior Cooperatives Development Specialist of the Cooperative Research, Information and Training Section, and Ms. Marian A. Concepcion, Acting Senior Cooperatives Development Specialist of the Credit Surety Fund Section. Through their expertise and dedication, the participants were guided through the topics in a clear, engaging, and practical manner that allowed them to better understand their roles as cooperative officers and members.
The conduct of the Online Required Training during Semana Santa once again highlights CDA MIMAROPA’s strong commitment to responsive and people-centered public service. By bringing training directly to cooperatives through online platforms, the agency continues to make learning more accessible, flexible, and inclusive for cooperative members across the region.
Through initiatives like this, CDA MIMAROPA reaffirms its role not only as a regulatory body but also as a partner in strengthening cooperatives and promoting sustainable development in the communities they serve.
