CDA MIMAROPA Joins the Nation in Celebrating National Women’s Month through Purple Wednesday

In solidarity with the nationwide observance of National Women’s Month, the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) MIMAROPA proudly took part in the celebration by actively supporting and participating in Purple Wednesday—a symbolic activity that highlights the agency’s commitment to gender equality and women empowerment.

Purple Wednesday, marked by wearing purple attire every Wednesday of March, serves as a visible expression of unity in advancing women’s rights and recognizing their invaluable contributions to nation-building. CDA MIMAROPA officials and personnel donned their purple shirts as a strong statement of support to the 2026 National Women’s Month theme, reinforcing the importance of creating inclusive, safe, and empowering spaces for women in the cooperative sector and beyond.

As an institution mandated to promote and develop cooperatives as instruments of social justice and economic development, CDA MIMAROPA recognizes the vital role of women in cooperative leadership, management, and membership. Across the MIMAROPA region, women continue to lead and actively participate in cooperatives—driving innovation, strengthening community enterprises, and fostering resilient local economies.

Through its Gender and Development (GAD) initiatives, CDA MIMAROPA integrates gender-responsive programs in its trainings, policy advocacy, and capacity-building activities. The observance of Purple Wednesday underscores the Authority’s commitment to ensuring that cooperatives remain platforms for equal opportunity, participatory governance, and inclusive growth.

The celebration also provided an opportunity for personnel to reaffirm their dedication to promoting gender fairness in the workplace. By wearing purple, CDA MIMAROPA stands in solidarity with women everywhere—honoring their achievements, acknowledging ongoing challenges, and supporting efforts to eliminate discrimination and gender-based barriers.

As the country celebrates National Women’s Month, CDA MIMAROPA remains steadfast in its mission to empower women within the cooperative movement, recognizing that empowered women lead to stronger families, sustainable cooperatives, and more progressive communities.

Through Purple Wednesday and other meaningful initiatives, CDA MIMAROPA proudly declares its continued support for gender equality—today and beyond March.
