Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro — The Cooperative Development Authority (CDA)
MIMAROPA has marked a significant milestone with the ongoing construction of its new two-storey Regional Office Building located at the Regional Government Center in Calapan City. The project, funded under the FY 2024 General Appropriations Act (GAA), forms part of the CDA’s nationwide efforts to strengthen its regional presence and enhance service delivery to cooperatives across MIMAROPA.
The construction site, now visibly progressing, features reinforced steel columns, concrete foundations, and active formwork installations. These developments signal the steady rise of a modern government facility that will soon house administrative offices, training spaces, and public service areas designed to better accommodate the growing needs of cooperatives in the region.
Despite occasional weather disturbances, construction activities have continued on schedule. Workers onsite are currently focused on completing foundational structures, vertical reinforcements, and perimeter walls. The presence of essential equipment—such as cement mixers, steel scaffolding, and protective staging—reflects the project’s momentum and careful adherence to engineering standards.
The project implementer, Edison Development and Construction Inc., is undertaking the works under a lot design-and-build contract covering improvements for seven CDA extension office structures nationwide. For the MIMAROPA region, the project specifically involves the construction of a two-storey building that will serve as the new home of CDA’s regional operations.
Once completed, the new building will offer improved accessibility for cooperatives, upgraded working conditions for staff, and expanded spaces for technical assistance, regulatory services, and training programs. Situated within the government center, the structure will complement existing regional offices and further strengthen inter-agency collaboration for local development.
With a target completion date of March 2, 2026, the CDA MIMAROPA Regional Office is set to become a vital hub for cooperative advancement in Oriental Mindoro and the entire MIMAROPA region.

As construction continues, CDA MIMAROPA remains committed to ensuring that the facility will embody the agency’s mission of promoting genuine cooperative development and empowering communities.
