The Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) – MIMAROPA Region successfully brought government services closer to the people through the conduct of Cooperative Compliance on Wheels across several areas in the region this March 2026. The initiative aimed to make compliance easier, faster, and more accessible for cooperatives, especially those located in remote municipalities.
The activity kicked off on March 2–3, 2026 at the GAD Building in the Municipality of Bansud, Oriental Mindoro, where 11 cooperatives were successfully issued their Certificates of Compliance (COC). The team then continued its mission on March 5–6, 2026 at the MEO Building in San Jose, Occidental Mindoro, where 27 cooperatives were able to secure their COCs. The final leg of the activity was conducted on March 10–12, 2026 in Palawan—covering Puerto Princesa City and the municipalities of Quezon and Roxas—where 44 cooperatives received their Certificates of Compliance.
More than just an outreach activity, Cooperative Compliance on Wheels became a strong demonstration of collaboration and partnership. The success of the activity was made possible through the valuable support of the Municipal Cooperative Development Officers (MCDOs), cooperative federations, the PCDO Palawan staff, and the partner Local Government Units (LGUs) that generously provided venues. Most importantly, the active participation and commitment of the cooperatives made the activity truly meaningful and successful.
The team behind the successful implementation of the program was composed of dedicated personnel who worked tirelessly to assist cooperatives and ensure smooth service delivery:
- Raquel Castañeda, Sr. CDS
- Melvin Cabanes, CDS II
- Cristian De Ade, CDS II / Program Coordinator – Oriental Mindoro
- Diana Aubrey Almazan, CDS II / Program Coordinator – Occidental Mindoro
- Marian Concepcion, Acting Sr. CDS / Program Coordinator – Palawan
- Adrian Sinocruz, CDS II – Palawan Field Office
Under the leadership and guidance of Regional Director Alberto A. Sabarias, the activity was carried out smoothly, efficiently, and with a strong commitment to public service.
Cooperative Compliance on Wheels aims to make CDA services more reachable, particularly in assisting cooperatives in securing their Certificate of Compliance (COC) and complying with reportorial requirements without the burden of traveling far from their communities. More importantly, the initiative provides much-needed support to micro and small cooperatives that often face challenges in compliance due to limited resources and access to services.
Through programs like this, CDA continues to strengthen its commitment to responsive, inclusive, and people-centered public service—bringing government closer to every cooperative in the MIMAROPA Region.
