SMART MONEY TALKS: FINANCIAL LITERACY AMONG STUDENT COOPERATIVE MEMBERS
FHSDFBJSD
Global Money Week (GMW) is an annual worldwide campaign aimed at raising awareness about financial education among children and young people. Celebrated in over 100 countries, the initiative encourages youth to learn about money management, saving, budgeting, and responsible spending from an early age. GMW seeks to equip the next generation with the knowledge, skills, attitudes, and behaviors necessary to make informed financial decisions, achieve financial well-being, and build resilience in an increasingly complex economic world. Each year, participating organizations, schools, and financial institutions organize activities, seminars, and workshops to empower young people and promote financial literacy as a foundation for lifelong economic stability.

Attendees were encouraged to make informed financial decisions, manage resources wisely, and develop responsible saving and spending habits. The seminar also provided participants with a deeper understanding of the Philippine financial system and the role of financial institutions in promoting economic stability. Student-members of laboratory cooperatives and interns affiliated with CDA actively participated, gaining practical insights into budgeting, saving, and responsible financial management. Laboratory cooperatives were recognized for introducing cooperative principles and fostering financial responsibility among students at an early age, helping to develop the next generation of financially savvy cooperative leaders in the region.
