The Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) Region V Office celebrated the International Day of Cooperatives on July 5, 2025, with the theme “Cooperatives: Driving Inclusive and Sustainable Solutions for a Better World.” The celebration featured simultaneous activities across all six provinces of the Bicol Region.
This year’s IDC is a flagship event of the United Nations International Year of Cooperatives (IYC2025), a once-in-a-decade opportunity to highlight the vital role cooperatives play in
building more inclusive, resilient, and sustainable communities worldwide.
CDA Region V extends its heartfelt thanks and appreciation to everyone who contributed to the success of this event. Our sincere gratitude goes out to the CDA employees, partner National Government Agencies, Local Government Units, Cooperatives, Cooperative members, Unions, Federations, Private institutions, and volunteers. Your support and dedication made the International Day of Cooperatives a truly meaningful celebration.
This event wouldn’t have been possible without the collective effort of all involved, and it is through your hard work and commitment that we were able to highlight the vital role cooperatives play in building stronger, more resilient communities. We are proud to have worked alongside so many passionate individuals and organizations who share our vision for a more inclusive and sustainable future.

The following are the activities conducted by region and in each province:
CDA REGION V:
1. Mangrove Planting Activity at San Isidro Boulevard, Sañgay, Camarines Sur.
PROVINCE OF CAMARINES SUR:
1. Simultaneous hanging of tarp of Naga City Cooperatives
2. Gift Giving to Pediatric Cancer Patients of Bicol Medical Center, Naga City, Camarines Sur
3. Tree planting in Panicuason by Cam Sur MPC
PROVINCE OF ALBAY:
1. Community Service of LACE MPC thru distribution of toiletries to 64 PDLs in Ligao City Jail
2. Clean Up Drive in Legazpi City
3. Regional Consular Office Bicol Employees MPC Tree Planting and Feeding Activity along rivers and falls in Legazpi City
4. Fatima Fisherfolks & farmers Agriculture Coop Coastal clean-up drive at Fatima Fish Port, Brgy. Fatima,Tabaco City
5. Cleaning at the Lawa & Binhi Project Site – San Isidro, Tabaco City by San Isidro (Boring) Agriculture Cooperative
6. SEDP MPC turnover of roasting machine to one of the coop member
7. West Coast Coconut farmers Agri coop coastal clean up at west coast and vegetable planting t Albay West coast
PROVINCE OF SORSOGON:
1. SOFT launching of 2025 Bicol coop Congress during coop forum
2. Tree Planting activity at Brgy. Milagrosa, Castilla Sorsogon
3. Hygiene kits distribution for PDL at Sorsogon Provincial jail
PROVINCE OF CAMARINES NORTE:
1. Hanging of Tarpaulin
2. 600 pcs Mangrove Planting in Barangay Cayucyucan, Mercedes, Camarines Norte participated by the primary coops, LGU and Barangay Council
3. Daet MCDC clean up drive after Holy Mass at St John the Baptist Parish, Morga grounds and Provincial Capitol participated by CDA, MCDO, and 16 primaries with the presence of Mam Linda and Hon Luhay Urbano, Committee Chair on Cooperatives of LGU Daet
4. Tree growing activity of MCDC San Lorenzo Ruiz at the riverbanks of Brgy Maisog and Mampurog with 100 pcs of Narra and fruit bearing trees participated by MCDO, MCDC, LGU and, 4primaries with total 35 pax of 16 male and 19female.
5. MCDC Basud conducted feeding activities to 50 families of Brgy San Jose in Basud with a livelihood training on Lumpia making for women/mothers, food pack giving and distribution of vegetable seeds for backyard farming among residents participated by 10 primaries, LGU,MAO, MCDO and MCDC
6. Labo MCDC went to Brgy San Antonio for tree growing of fruit trees provided by CNSC talobatib Agriculture extension services with the presence of Hon Mayor Jojo Francisco, outgoing MCDC Chair Hon Dante Alaon and the incoming Hon. Evaristo Andaya, the MCDO, MCDC officers, and 10 primaries, then MCDC meeting and despidida party and swimming after the activities.
7. MCDC Talisay coastal clean up activities at the seashore of Brgy San Jose with the presence of newly elected provincial Board Member Hon. Jonah Pimentel providing his pick up truck to haul the trash gathered. participated by MCDC, MCDO, MAO, CDA, LGU, farmers and fisherfolks and coop members and officers from primary coops of Talisay.
8. COOP YOUTH CAMP by CANOFECO in Camarines Norte
PROVINCE OF MASBATE:
1. Feeding program /activity to undernourished children in Brgy. District 2, San Jacinto, Masbate. Spearheaded by MCDO – LGU, San Jacinto Community Consumers Cooperative & Fish Vendors Consumers Cooperative.
2. Tree Planting Program by the MCDO of LGU Milagros
PROVINCE OF CATANDUANES:
1. FEEDING PROGRAM SPONSORED BY Cooperatives in Catanduanes
