Mandaue City Cooperative Congress Highlights Credit Surety Fund
October 29, 2025 | The Mandaue City Cooperative Development Office successfully concluded the 2025 Cooperative Congress at Waterworld Hotel, Mandaue City, with active participation from representatives of various cooperatives in the city.

CDA Region 7 Director Cristina H. Villamil was present during the event and imparted the value of cooperativism in advancing both organizational and community development. She reaffirmed the agencyโs commitment to strengthening cooperative enterprises through its various programs, while also supporting the broader community in alignment with the initiatives of the City Government.
During the program, Senior CDS Gina F. Repunte provided an orientation on Republic Act No. 10744, otherwise known as the Credit Surety Fund Program.

This initiative is designed to enhance the creditworthiness of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) including cooperatives that are unable to secure loans due to collateral requirements. Repunte further emphasized that contributions from large and medium cooperatives, specifically from their excess Community Development Fund and Optional Fund, serve as vital resource in enabling micro and small cooperatives to participate in the program. Through this mechanism, the initiative empowers micro and small cooperatives, promotes financial inclusivity, and strengthens the overall cooperative movement in the region.
It is also noted the Mandaue City has a registered CSF Cooperative and the opportunity gave rise to the promotion of the program to those who are not yetย members of the Mandaue City CSF Cooperative.
The event culminated with the awarding and recognition of various cooperatives that exemplify best practices in cooperative business.
