On Monday, July 29, 2024, representatives from ACDI MPC and Prime Acers Holding Corporation paid a significant courtesy visit to the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) Region VIII office in Tacloban City. The delegation was warmly welcomed by CDA R8 Regional Director Venus Jornales, Acting Supervising CDS Maripaz Del Pilar, Senior CDS Rowan Delos Santos, and CDS II Hazel Fe Katigbak.
The visit included notable personalities from ACDI such as Ms. Jennifer Lachica, AH EVAO, Mr. Eric Cabanero, Roving BH EVAO, Ms. Maryrose Gemana, BH Tacloban, Ms. Reynalda Tolibas, BH Catbalogan, and Ms. Cristina Tan, BH Catarman. Representing PAHC was Ms. Ma Jovelyn Dadula, the PAHC EVAO Head.
During the meeting, updates were provided on the Koop-Kapatid Program. The CDA R8 team received an assessment and progress report on six partner and beneficiary cooperatives in Region 8. It was highlighted that one beneficiary cooperative is expected to graduate from Micro to Small status in the following year, demonstrating positive growth and development.
Discussions also covered ACDI MPC’s potential assistance to the Bantay at Gabay Peace Builders Cooperative, a former rebel cooperative. This initiative is part of their community development efforts to ensure the cooperative’s business sustainability.
Ms. Ma Jovelyn Dadula introduced Prime Acers Holding Corp and Prime Aces College Inc., explaining the purpose of their visit. The primary goal was to seek CDAโs assistance in obtaining a list of cooperatives in the region to conduct a Training Needs Assessment during cooperative visits.
This joint venture underscores a shared commitment to fostering mutual and collective growth among cooperatives in Region 8. It promotes the core values of cooperation and shared prosperity, essential for sustainable development. Under the leadership of Regional Director Venus Jornales, the CDA R8 expressed gratitude for this collaboration and is optimistic about the positive impacts of these initiatives.
