On August 03, 2026 the Business Continuity Planning (BCP) Seminar and Workshop for Micro, Small and Medium Cooperatives was conducted in the City Government of Taguig through the Taguig Cooperative Development Office (TCDO), headed by Ms. Bing Juarez.This was made possible through partnership with the Cooperative Development Authority – National Capital Region Extension Office (CDA-NCR EO), represented by Taguig assigned CDS II, Marilou M. Valencia and CDS II Mr. Arnel Crisostomo M. Cruz; and the Taguig City Cooperative Development Council (TCCDC).  Likewise, this was in coordination with the Cooperative Union of Taguig and Pateros (COUNTPA) Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Russell Baldomar; and the Union of Defense and Public Safety Cooperatives (UDPSC) General Manager, Ms. Salud Pasicolan.The venue was at the 4th Floor, Taguig L.E.A.P. Center, Phase 1, Pampanga Street, Barangay Pinagsama, Taguig City.

Said BCP Sem-Workshop supports the Cooperative’s compliance with CDA’s requirements under Section 2, Rule II of Republic Act No. 11364, otherwise known as the Cooperative Development Authority Charter of 2019. This Charter mainly requires registered cooperatives to develop business continuity plans that address all kinds of risks so that Cooperatives may be empowered by minimizing downtime, doing risk and impact analysis and establishing clear responsibilities.

In attendance were Thirty-Eight (38) participants from Eighteen (18) micro and small Taguig City Cooperatives.

Taguig CDO Head introduced the CDA representatives who have been tasked to conduct BCP Seminar-Workshop. She generously shared her expertise especially in clarifying quite difficult coop issues and concerns.

The 1st Part of the session handled by CDS II, Ms. Valencia,  covered the introduction, mind and goalsetting, definitions necessary to arrive at their ultimate output, and the Business Continuity Plan. Mr. Cruz then discussed the Toolkit, the 6 steps of the procedure of writing the BCP. In the afternoon, Mr. Cruz took the participants on their How -To journey to completion of their Coop’s BCP.

The presentation of the BCP Seminar-Workshop Outputs was well represented coming from different sectors such as credit, transport, media, producers, school, logistics and consumers. To lighten the task, the Taguig CDO staff ably rendered assistance through typing and formatting the participants’ outputs.

The BCP participants were truly happy and very grateful not just for their many takeaways and presentation assistance, but mainly for having learned and gained so much insights from the seminar-workshop as reflected in their presented Business Continuity Plans.
