On May 26, 2026, the Cooperative Development Authority-NCR Extension Office (CDA-NCREO) successfully hosted the Cooperative Job Fair at the SM North EDSA Annex Atrium in Quezon City. Anchored by the theme, “Legitimacy, Sustainability, and Competitiveness (LSC): Strengthening LSCs for Decent Work and Responsible Contracting,” the event attracted over 400 participants and resulted in 38 applicants being hired on the spot.
The job fair aimed to promote decent employment, strengthen compliance with Labor Service Cooperative (LSC) principles, and encourage responsible contracting practices among participating organizations.
Distinguished guests and partners graced the activity with their presence: Cooperative Development Authority Asec. Vergel M. Hilario, SM Operations Manager Rex Crucillo, CDA-NCREO Regional Director Pedro T. Defensor Jr., DOLE-NCR Regional Director Atty. Sarah Bueno S. Mirasol, AVP For Coop Planning and External Affairs of ACDI MPC Mr. Joed Martin Cruz and Union of Legitimate Service Contracting Cooperatives (ULSCC) Executive Director Atty. Dulce B. Delmo.
In his message, Asec. Hilario acknowledged the invaluable contributions of the event’s partners and stakeholders. He emphasized the importance of collaboration among government agencies, local government units (LGUs), cooperatives, and private sector in creating member employment opportunities. He noted that everyone can be an instrument of positive change by working with integrity and commitment. He also expressed gratitude to SM North EDSA Management for providing the venue, support, and assistance that contributed to the success of the activity. He likewise recognized the full support extended by the national government agencies (NGAs), LGUs, and other cooperative sponsors. Addressing the jobseekers, he encouraged them to give their best effort and remain committed to their career goals, emphasizing that perseverance and dedication will lead to meaningful opportunities and benefits. He also reminded recruiters to treat jobseekers as partners in business, recognizing their vital role in organizational growth and success.
The event highlighted the strong partnership among cooperatives, government, and private sector in promoting employment and economic development. The success of the 2026 Coop Job Fair was made possible through the support of other partners, including Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Social Security System (SSS), Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth), Pag-IBIG Fund, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), ICT Literacy and Competency Development Bureau, QC Treasurer’s Office, 1 Cooperative Health, National Alliance of Cooperatives (NAC) and other participating organizations.
An upcoming job fair is scheduled for October in line with the celebration of Cooperative Month to provide employment opportunities for jobseekers and participating organizations
