CDA-NCR SPEARHEADS CELEBRATION OF
GLOBAL MONEY WEEK 2026

In celebration of the Global Money Week 2026 (March 16 to 22), with the theme “Smart Money Talks,” the Cooperative Development Authority-National Capital Region Extension Office (CDA-NCREO) led forty-nine (49) representatives on an insightful tour of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) Money Museum in Pasay City on March 17, 2026. This initiative included participants from the Union of Metro Manila Cooperatives (UMMC) and various primary cooperatives. The tour delved deep into the rich history of Philippine currency—from ancient piloncitos to the advanced security features of our modern polymer banknotes.

This visit was not only about looking back at the nation’s monetary heritage but also about securing our future. Participants gained practical skills in counterfeit detection and deepened their understanding on the BSP’s vital role in maintaining price stability—knowledge that will be carried back to their cooperatives to strengthen financial literacy and resilience with their communities.
