
The Department of Trade and Industry-NCR (DTI-NCR), in coordination with the Cooperative Development Authority-NCR Extension Office (CDA-NCREO), conducted a Training on Understanding the Shared Service Facilities (SSF) Program and Developing Strategic Planning Concepts on April 16, 2026,
starting around 10:00 a.m. at the DTI Negosyo Center Model Training Room, Gil Puyat Avenue, Makati City. It was attended by at least 50 participants from 25 cooperatives.

The program started with Preliminaries and Welcome Remarks from the Acting Regional Director of DTI-NCR, Mr. Jay Acar followed by a video presentation focusing on the Overview of the SSF Program. For the first part, Ms. Teresita Go of the DTI-Bureau of Small and Medium Enterprise
Development discussed the SSF program guidelines. This included qualification, requirements, process flow, counterpart responsibilities of cooperators, best practices and common issues/challenges in the
implementation, and eligibility criteria for proposed SSF projects. After the presentation, clarification and questions from the participants were gladly entertained and answered by DTI staff which included fees, financial and operational criteria to qualify as cooperators, bidding and procurement requirements and processes, insurance and other documentary requirements and others.

An Operational Gap Assessment Session was facilitated by Ms. Jennifer Candelaria of DTI-NCR, focusing on the identification of coop needs and gap assessment. She also shared the directory of SSF Facilities in NCR for reference of the participants.

The activity concluded with a photo opportunity by the participants and activity organizers.
