Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between Cooperative Development Authority and the City Government of Pasig

For cooperative development in the City of Pasig, a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) was officially signed between the Cooperative Development Authority and the Office of the City Mayor, City Government of Pasig. The signing was represented by CDA Chairperson Alexander B. Raquepo and Honorable Mayor Victor Ma. Regis Nubla Sotto, with the presence of CDA-NCR Regional Director Pedro T. Defensor Jr., Vice-Mayor Robert Vincent Jude Jaworski Jr., Pasig City Cooperative Development Council Chairperson Romeo Naga, and Pasig City Cooperative Development OIC John Troy Sunga.

The partnership aims to strengthen of skills and knowledge of existing and emerging cooperatives in the city through structured capacity-building programs; facilitate, support access, and promote sustainability of financial assistance and grants provided by the LGU for qualified cooperatives; promote and monitor regulatory compliance with the CDA and other relevant agencies to ensure transparency, accountability, and good governance among cooperatives, and establish a “Mediation and Conciliation Hub” in line with Article 137 of R.A. 9520, to amicably settle intra- and inter-cooperatives disputes prior to voluntary arbitration, ensuring earnest efforts by cooperative conciliation and mediation committees.

The partnership was formalized during the 4th Cooperative Congress of Pasig City having the theme “KEY ON BOARD – Kooperate to Elevate: Youth on Board”, at Chardonnay by Astoria, Pasig City.
