Cooperatives in different cities of Metro Manila proved that cooperatives are for service to the members and the community especially during these challenging and difficult times, like what the Ugong Multi-Purpose Cooperative of Pasig City did. The cooperative extended cash assistance to its One Thousand Seven Hundred Three (1,703) members at Five Hundred Pesos (Php500.00) each. The coop utilized its Optional Fund (OF) amounting to Eight Hundred Fifty-One Thousand Five Hundred Pesos (Php851,500.00) for this purpose.
They were also able to distribute in advance the ISCPR of members in a total amount of Three Million Five Hundred Thousand Pesos (Php3.5M). The distribution process was conducted at the Ugong covered court for a period four (4) days from 9:00 AM to 12:00nn only as they properly observed scheduling of release due to strict implementation of social distancing procedure.
