Taguig City Cooperative Development Council 3rd General Assembly Meeting

The 128th Independence Day Celebration in Taguig City was graced by no other than the Honorable Mayor of Taguig, Maria Laarni “Ate Lani” L. Cayetano, Vice-Mayor Arvin Ian V. Alit, Councilor Carlito M. Ogalinola, Chairperson of Committee on Cooperatives, COOP NATCCO Partylist, Congressman, Hon. Felimon M. Espares, and DTI NCRO Area 2 Division Chief, Ms. Rowena San Jose.
The first part of the celebration was the conduct of the Forum on Cooperative Leadership handled by Ms. Lecira V. Juarez, Head, Taguig City CDO which focused on Cooperative Principle No. 4: Autonomy and Independence Driving Soundness and Sustainability for Cooperatives.
At 11:00 A.M., the 3rd General Assembly Meeting was called to order. Ms. Juarez presented the Leadership Service Recognition Awards to the Outgoing TCCDC Officers and to some individuals who contributed to Taguig City coops’ transformation. She also
reported the following to the members of the Council:
1. Status Report on the Local Tax Exemption, the TCDO and TCCDC’s
institutionalization as a department and as a recognized council
2. On matters concerning GSALUBCOOP’s request for their tricycle franchise to be under the name of the Cooperative.
3. New Business Matters:
a. Governance, Programs, Activities
b. State of the Coops in the City
c. Status of the city’s Coops Compliance with CDA
d. CDA’s Inspection Findings
e. Coop’s Annual Investment Program for 2027
f. 2026 Priority Development Intervention
g. Recognition of the Coop Unions General Manager and Chief Executive
Officer as Council Officer-Representatives of the Coop Sector
h. Other Matters
The Election of Officers was opened with the reading of the Election Guidelines (MC2022-03), followed by the nomination for the different positions. Election results showed the following winners:
1. Chairperson – Sharon Buhayo – Koop King Multipurpose Cooperative
2. Vice-Chairperson – Michael Lorenzana – Benigno S. Aquino High School Multi-Purpose Cooperative
3. Secretary – Gerzon Mascariñas – SVNHS Employees Multi-Purpose Cooperative
4. Treasurer – Gerry Fernandez – Top Form Multi-Purpose Cooperative
5. Auditor – Rynel More – Veterans Community Consumers Cooperative (VCCC)
6. Cooperative Union of Taguig and Pateros (COUNTPA) – CEO and Union of Defense and Public Safety Cooperative (UDPSC) – GM – as Council Officer-Representatives of the Cooperative Sector

The Oath taking by the newly elected TCCDC Officers was administered by the Assistant Regional Director of CDA-NCR EO, Ms. Anastacia A. Hora.
