The Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) and the Ayala Foundation, Inc. (AFI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on August 09 2025 at the Ayala Museum, Makati City.
This partnership is focused primarily on providing additional support to AFI-supported cooperatives, streamlining regulatory compliance for cooperatives in targeted regions, leveraging each of the parties’ existing partnership with the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) to benefit cooperatives established by Indigenous Cultural Communities (ICCs) and Indigenous Peoples (IPs), and promoting skills-based volunteerism.
The MOU’s principal signatories are: USec. Alexander B. Raquepo, CDA Chairperson; Mr. Antonio Joselito G. Lambino II, AFI President; and Mr. Emil Francis B. De Quiros, AFI Senior Director. Signing as witnesses are: ASec. Santiago S. Lim, CDA Administrator; and Mr. Marciano T. Virola, AFI Consultant for Community Development.
During the said activity, the CDA Chairperson expressed his gratitude to the AFI for recognizing the role of the cooperatives in empowering the Indigenous Cultural Communities/Indigenous Peoples (ICCs/IPs) as part of nation-building.
The occasion is backed with CDA’s celebrating the 6th Year celebration of the CDA Charter of 2019 (or the Republic Act no. 11364).
