SUBJECT : DECLARATION OF OCTOBER 20, 2018 AS NATIONAL COOPERATIVE DAY
This Memorandum Circular is being issued to inform all stakeholders in the cooperative movement, that the CDA Board of Administrators, in their Regular Meeting held on August 29, 2018, has declared October 20, 2018 as National Cooperative Day in the Philippines thru Board Resolution No. 386 Series 2018.
Relative to this, we enjoin the CDA and the cooperative sector in every region to jointly undertake activities on said date geared towards creating deeper public awareness and social consciousness on the vital role of cooperatives as people centered, community-based organizations focused on contributing to the solution of economic, social and environmental problems in the country. Such activities should likewise highlight the successes of cooperatives on poverty eradication and social transformation in their areas of operations.
In view hereof, all concerned are directed to cause the widest possible dissemination of this declaration through information campaign and undertake preparatory activities to ensure a meaningful and simultaneous celebration of “National Cooperative Day”, on October 20, 2018.
