The Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) workforce of the Region X Extension Office held a three-day Planning Conference last January 15-17, 2025 at the Gardens of Malasag Eco-Tourism Village, Cagayan de Oro. This strategically important event primarily focused on reviewing the Work and Financial Plan (WFP) for 2025, placing a strong emphasis on setting targets and making commitments essential for the region’s growth and development.
The meeting commenced with welcoming and inspiring remarks from none other than the CDA Administrator Assistant Secretary Santiago S. Lim. His speech set a positive tone for the event, emphasizing the importance of collaborative efforts and the consistency to push through. Following this, Regional Director Aminoden A. Elias highlighted the crucial role of the Cooperative Development Specialists (CDS) as they adapt to their new assignments. The first day also featured updates from section heads, including CPDAS; Edwin B. Pelosas, CRITS; Nizar R. Pangalian and Registration; Edilberta M. Balaba. They shared insights and strategies for achieving the indicators set out in the WFP, encouraging CDS participants to contribute their ideas and suggest improvements to meet their individual goals.
On the second day, the conference continued with essential presentations by the Legal Section, through Atty. Ansarah Julynne M. Yamba and from the Credit Surety Fund (CSF) through Ma. Isadel S. Atrigenio. This is succeeded by an equally impactful update from the Finance and HR departments. The final day was dedicated to the Planning Division, with Supervising CDS Marissa B. Catubig led the session, particularly on the scheduling of the 2025 Cooperative Information Caravan, training programs for cooperatives, the introduction of new strategies for enhancing cooperative capabilities, and a review of key issued memorandum circulars. The atmosphere throughout the three-day conference was one of collaboration, dedication, and a shared commitment to serving and empowering cooperatives in Region 10.
