The Information Caravan, which visited multiple municipalities and citiesin Bukidnon, Camiguin, Lanao del Norte, Misamis Occidental, and Misamis Oriental, was organized to update the cooperative sector on the CDA’s developmental, quasi-judicial, and regulatory functions. It also served as an avenue to promote policy awareness, compliance with legal requirements, and alignment with national cooperative development goals.

More than just a platform for information dissemination, the caravan aimed to build meaningful linkages with cooperatives and stakeholders at the community level. Through presentations, open forums and consultation sessions, cooperative leaders were given the opportunity to clarify concerns and explore potential partnerships with CDA and fellow cooperatives through different developmental programs.
A notable highlight of the activity is the overwhelming support from local government units. Various LGUs across the five provinces extended logistical assistance and reaffirmed their commitment to inclusive cooperative growth. These efforts were further strengthened by the active participation of Cooperative Development Officers (CDOs) who mobilized local cooperatives and echoed the importance of sustained coordination between the CDA and LGUs.
The caravan emphasized the CDA’s three-fold mandate:
– Its developmental function, which empowers cooperatives through training, technical assistance, and capacity-building;
– Its quasi-judicial function, focused on new legal updates.
– And its regulatory function, ensuring adherence to the Philippine Cooperative Code and CDA policies.
CDA Region 10 Information Caravan concluded with positive feedback from participants, many of whom expressed appreciation for the direct engagement, timely updates and collaborative atmosphere fostered by the activity. The Authority views this as a reaffirmation of its mission to bring services closer to cooperatives and cultivate a resilient, empowered and united cooperative movement in Northern Mindanao.
