In a significant endeavor aimed at fostering cooperative development, the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) Region 10 joined forces with the CMPL-Sectoral Apex Organization (SAO) incumbent officers to conduct the Consumers, Marketing, Producers, and Logistics (CMPL) Regional Clustered Organization (RCO) General Assembly and Election of Officers on May 3-4, 2024 at Country Village Hotel, Carmen, Cagayan de Oro City. This activity was headed by CDA-10 Regional Director Aminoden A. Elias, and Mr. Edwin B. Pelosas, Senior CDS. The event was further facilitated by the presence of CMPL Cooperative Cluster Head Asec. Datu Pendatun B. Disimban.
With the participation of 80 attendees coming from different cities and provinces of Region 10, the two-day event commenced with the opening remarks by Regional Director Elias, emphasizing the imperative nature of cooperative viability and growth. Following this, Asec. Disimban delivered an inspirational message, setting the tone for the proceedings. Notably, he announced a substantial cash assistance program for the beneficiaries within the CMPL Cluster, particularly the “Micro and Small CMPL Cooperative Start-Up Livelihood Capital Assistance Program”, that aimed at addressing capitalization challenges faced by cooperatives. This announcement garnered significant attention, prompting active engagement from the beneficiaries.
Afterwards, Dr. Andy Nestor Ryan Pazon, Vice President of CMPL-SAO, presided over the general assembly and election of officers with the help of CMPL-SAO Secretary General Nestor P. Carlon Jr. and CDA Cooperative Development Specialist Ms. Gilda A. Kempis. The election process, conducted through a secret ballot, culminated in the successful selection of newly elected officers for RCO 10 CMPL Officers. Dr. Gervacio I. Piator emerged as President, with Mr. Melven Erederos as Vice President, Dr. Lydia Tubella as Secretary and Cheryll P. Balderama as Treasurer. Additionally, sectoral representatives, including Mr. Gideon Buyan for Consumers, Ms. Veronica Acot for Marketing, and Mr. Narciso Paitan for Producers, were elected. Provincial Representatives were also duly elected, Ms. Jocely Eguia for Bukidnon, Arnulfo Jamiro for Camiguin, Efren Villacrusis for Lanao Del Norte, Engr. Anselmo Econg Jr. for Misamis Occidental, Mr. Nelson Tumonglay for Misamis Oriental, Rodulfo Yana for Cagayan de Oro City, and Annabell M. Sator for Iligan City.
Following the election proceedings, the newly elected officers took their oath, symbolizing their commitment to strengthen the cooperative sector through collaborative efforts. The program concluded with closing remarks by Mr. Melvin Erederos, leaving participants with a sense of motivation and purpose, urging them to sustain their engagement and dedication to the ongoing projects and activities of the cluster.
