The Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) Regional Office X successfully concluded the annual Cooperative Information Caravan 2004 at the Camiguin Convention Center in Mambajao, Camiguin last March 5, 2024. This month-long initiative, which commenced on February 6, 2024, at the People’s Palace in Balingasag, Misamis Oriental, marked a significant milestone in the CDA’s efforts to extend its reach to all cooperatives and establish a tangible presence in the field.
Traversing various locations throughout Region 10, including Gingoog City, Laguindingan, and Villanueva in Misamis Oriental, Valencia City in the province of Bukidnon, Oroquieta City in Misamis Occidental, Tubod in Lanao del Norte and Iligan City, each event provided the cooperatives of Region 10 with an invaluable opportunity for a comprehensive update on the regulatory, legal, and developmental programs of the agency, including the introduction of the Credit Surety Fund and latest Memorandum Circulars. In Cagayan de Oro City, cooperatives attended the virtual activity via Zoom.
This event featured and highlighted the importance of the submission of mandatory reportorial requirements of the cooperative. In addition to the reminder on the reporting deadlines, the resource speakers provided an extensive presentation on how to fill out their mandatory reports to the Cooperative Assessment Information System (CAIS) and how to input the Electronic Cooperative Registration Information System (ECOOPRIS) for their registrations and amendments. Afterward, the presenters catered a more focused coaching and technical assistance to several cooperatives at the back of the venue while the discussion of theother sections was happening simultaneously.
The Legal Officer of CDA Region 10, Atty. Ansarah Julynne M. Yamba, having been present in all schedules, then continued with a quick lecture on the different remedies found under the CDA Omnibus Rules of Procedure and addressed numerous legal concerns in the open forum and/or private consultation when requested.
The success of the Cooperative Information Caravan 2024, was made possible through the support of the Local Government Units through its Cooperative Development Offices, active Cooperative Development Officers, and the cooperation and participation of all cooperatives all over Region 10.
