The Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) Region 10 participates in launching the 2nd year caravan and one-stop shop of the Enhanced Partnership Against Hunger and Poverty from August 22 to 24, 2023 at SM City Uptown.
Spearheaded by the Department of Social Welfare and Development of Region 10, the caravan showcases the various products of the local farmers and fisherfolks in Northern Mindanao.
The event was graced by DSWD field office X Regional Director, Ramel F. Jamen, who also led the ribbon cutting with other officials and representatives of the partner agencies.
Meanwhile, the partner/participating agencies like the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA), National Irrigation Administration (NIA), Department of Science and Technology (DOST), Department of Information, Communication and Technology (DICT), Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA), National Food Authority (NFA), Department of Agriculture-Agricultural Training Institute (DA-ATI), Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), Department of Education (DepEd), Department of Health (DOH), Department of Budget and Management (DBM) among others presented the government assistance and programs intended to augment the income of the farmer cooperatives and associations.
This 3-day event had total booth sales of Php103,442.50 and was attended by 116 farmers and 45 Community-Based Organizations (CBOs). This activity joined by the different sectors of our society, from the different government agencies to our farmers and other organizations, proved to be a lucrative and outstanding occasion as it fostered collaboration and cooperation among us in order to achieve sustainable development and enhance participation in our fight against hunger and poverty.
