SUBJECT : EXEMPTION OF LOCAL COOPERATIVE DEVELOPMENT OFFICES FROM SEEKING ACCREDITATION AS COOPERATIVE TRAINING PROVIDERS FROM THE COOPERATIVE DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY (CDA) SUBJECT TO CERTAIN CONDITIONS
Please be advised that in consonance with (iii), Section 487, Article XVII of RA No. 11535, An Act Making the Position of Cooperatives Development Officer Mandatory in the Municipal, City, and Provincial Levels, Amending for the Purpose RA No. 7160, Otherwise Known as the “Local Government Code Of 1991, As Amended which states, “In partnership with the CDA, Department of Trade and Industry, other government agencies, cooperative unions and federations, the academe, and other private organizations, provide technical and other forms of assistance to duly registered cooperatives to enhance their viability as an economic enterprise and social organization including, but not limited to, training and education, business management, finance and financial management, Local Cooperative Development Offices (LCDOs) are no longer required to seek accreditation as a Cooperative Training Provider (CTPro) from the Authority.
The above, notwithstanding, all Local Cooperative Development Offices that will be providing training and education for cooperatives are required to follow the curriculum for mandatory trainings contained in CDA Memorandum Circular No. 2015- 09 and any subsequent amendments thereon.
