CDA HOLDS E-FORUM FOR COOPERATIVE EXTERNAL AUDITORS (CEAs)

On August 3, 2021, the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) conducted a nationwide e-forum for Cooperative External Auditors (CEAs). A total of 480 accredited and prospective CEAs from the different regions of the country gathered in this virtual event.

The nationwide activity is the Authority’s initiative to ensure the continuous development of external auditors. Through this e-forum, CEAs were updated about the latest issuances and guidelines issued by the Authority regarding the cooperatives’ financial statements. They were also reminded about the duties and responsibilities of accredited CEAs. The e-forum also provided an avenue for the Authority and CEAs to identify areas of collaboration to further improve the reporting of the financial operations of all the cooperatives.

As the Authority continuously implements its programs and activities, it aims to build a strong network with the CEAs who can help cascade its standards, rules, and regulations to cooperatives in an effective manner.

The conduct of the e-forum was initiated by CDA Board Director, Assistant Secretary Abdulsalam S. Guinomla, who also heads the Education, Advocacy, and Union Cluster. It was fully supported by other CDA Board Members namely, Chairperson Usec. Joseph B. Encabo, Assistant Secretary and Acting Administrator Myrla B. Paradillo, Assistant Secretaries Pendatun B. Disimban, Vidal Villanueva III, Abad L. Santos, and  Dr. Virgilio R. Lazaga, who gave inspirational messages to the participants.
