The Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) and the Social Housing Finance Corporation (SHFC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) last October 11, 2023 where the two agencies agreed to collaborate in harmonizing their policies with respect to the monitoring of housing cooperatives and the membership of Cooperative Housing vis-à-vis the masterlist of member-beneficiaries of SHFC.
Present during the MOU signing were Usec. Joseph B. Encabo, Asec. Myrla B. Paradillo, and Asec. Verhel M. Hilario together with SHFC President Federico A. Laxa, Executive Vice President, Atty. Junefe G. Payot, and other SHFC officials.
Under the agreement, both agencies will also endeavor to formulate a unified policy for the implementation of High Density Housing (HDH) projects, provide capacity building support and re-orientation of both agencies policies intended for the growth and development of housing cooperatives, provide collective interventions to the housing cooperatives enrolled under SHFC’s programs, and regularly meet and prepare plan of actions for the implementation of the projects. /Edmund Chris Acosido
