CDA LAUDED THE 2014 GAWAD PARANGAL MOST OUTSTANDING PERFORMERS ON COOPERATIVE DEVELOPMENT

October 16, 2014 marks the significant event for the cooperative sector as the CDA lauded the Most Outstanding Cooperatives and Partners in its Gawad Parangal 2014 Awarding Ceremony held during the 12th National Cooperative Summit at Waterfront Hotel, Lahug, Cebu City.  Gawad Parangal is one of the banner programs of the CDA and is now on its 4th year of implementation.  It aims to recognize the exemplary performance of the Cooperatives, Leaders, Cooperative Development Offices and Regional Cooperative Development Council.

Out of the 87 national nominees for different categories of awards, the following are among declared the national winners:

Honorable Dr. Eulogio T. Castillo, Officer-in-Charge of the CDA, commended and congratulated the national nominees.  In his message he expressed that nominees should not think of the high expectations that the awards and recognition will bring to their organizations, however, let this motivate them to further explore and delve deeper on the possibilities, the potential of reaching out to as many members as they can through the services and programs being offered, including the community members.

Executive Director Ray R. Elevazo in his Closing Remarks extended his appreciation for the support of the cooperative sector to the CDA Gawad Parangal and he looked forward to a better Gawad Parangal in the succeeding years. (CCReyes)
