CDA Launches Financial Literacy Program for Laboratory Cooperatives Nationwide

March 18, 2024 –  The Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) launched its Financial Literacy Program for laboratory cooperatives in all extension offices nationwide during the opening of the 12th Global Money Week Celebration.

The event featured a keynote address by Mr. Emmanuel Anthony B. Rosana, a dynamic youth leader in the cooperative sector. Mr. Rosana, alongside several members of laboratory cooperatives from extension offices, addressed CDA personnel virtually, highlighting the significance of financial literacy in empowering cooperative communities.

The ceremony also included the recognition of top-performing laboratory cooperatives nationwide, who were awarded trophies and cash prizes for their outstanding contributions to cooperative development.

In addition to the awards, the 2025 “Ipon or Savings Challenge” was officially launched, aimed at promoting financial literacy and encouraging savings among cooperative members. Money savings boxes were distributed to kickstart the financial literacy program and foster a culture of saving among participants.

Furthermore, on March 22, 2024, the CDA will co-sponsor the Asia Pacific Global Money Week celebration at the Visa Office in the Mall of Asia Complex. The event, anchored by AFLATOUN International and NATCCO Network, aims to further promote financial literacy and empower individuals across the region.
