CDA PARTNERS WITH DGRV TO FURTHER STRENGTHEN THE COOPERATIVE SECTOR

The Cooperative Development Authority sealed its partnership with the DGRV through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) last December 15, 2023 at the CDA Head Office.

DGRV (Deutscher Genossenschafts- und Raiffeisenverband e.V.) or the German Cooperative and Raiffeisen Federation is the umbrella organization of the German cooperative system providing auditing, education, consultancy, and other services. They are engaged in international development cooperation in more than 30 partner countries where they provide consultancy and assist in developing cooperative systems and structures geared towards the sustainable development of the cooperative sector.

The partnership between the two organizations aims to outline a framework of cooperation to implement measures for the development of the sector such as capacity building, empowerment of stakeholders, technical exchange, research, as well as advisory and consultation. This includes providing support to CDA to develop their regulatory and supervisory capacities and tools and to work towards the improvement of the regulatory framework in the Philippines.

CDA Officials including CDA Chairman, Usec. Joseph B. Encabo, Acting Administrator, Asec. Myrla B. Paradillo, Asec. Abdulsalam A. Guinomla, Asec. Luz H. Yringco, Asec. Pendatun B. Disimban, Asec. Vergel M. Hilario, and Asec. Virgilio R. Lazaga were present during the event. On the part of DGRV, its Project Director, Mr. Marc-Andre Zach represented their organization.

Also present were Deputy Administrator Mona Liza A. Juarez, Director Mildred S. Esguerra, CDA NCR Director Pedro T. Defensor Jr., Director Joselito O. Hallazgo, Dr. Edmund Chris S. Acosido, and Ms. Rosemarie J. Beltran from OFAD.
