CDA Personnel Trained on Project Development and Management

CDA Technical personnel under the Cooperative Project Development and Assistance Section (CPDAS) in all its Regional Extension Offices participated in the “Training on Project Development and Management for CDA Technical Personnel” held at the Subic Grand Harbour Hotel, Zambales last May 20 to 24, 2024.

The training is the Agency response to human development needs of the CDA personnel especially on the ground. In the long-term, this will help CDA to have a pool of competent trainers on passing the knowledge and skills on to the cooperative sector and new entrants in CDA workforce. Harnessing the training of trainers are important to effectively transfer the CDA personnel’s skills, information, experience, or ideas with cooperatives and key clientele.

Asec. Santiago Lim, CDA Administrator, expressed his statement of support and guidance to the participants as trainers in the field of project development and management. He also emphasized the significance of providing such training in making sure that organizational directives are being met based on the scope of how the Agency should facilitate and manage its programs, activities, and projects.

USec. Joseph B. Encabo, CDA Chairman, when he attended the day four of the training,  highlighted the Presidential Directives that the CDA should be focusing on to strengthening and to developing the agriculture sector through Cooperativism. Uttering his support, USec. Encabo thanked the Institutional Development Service (IDS) headed by Deputy Administrator Ray Elevazo, for conducting such training which is vital in the proper management of CDA resources for cooperative development.

ASec. Vergel M. Hilario, Head of the CDA cluster for Human Services cooperatives, extended his unwavering support to CDA staff on the last day of the training session, knowing that their performance must be met with assistance from the Management through offering of training courses and other capacity-building interventions for their professional growth within the organization.

DA Elevazo closed the program with high hope of successful cascading of training lessons and experiences down to their colleagues in all regions implementing developmental projects and programs of the Agency. The above training is facilitated under the leadership of DA Elevazo through one of its units, the Cooperative Project Development and Assistance Division (CPDAD) with its Division Chief, Ms. Melissa C. Santos.
