CDA Signs Agreement with NHA for Cooperative Promotion and Development in Resettlement Sites

The Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) and the National Housing Authority (NHA) has agreed, subject to their mandates, priorities, resources and the limits set forth under applicable laws, to pool their expertise and resources for the promotion and development of cooperative development programs throughout the NHA resettlement/project sites.

Signing the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) were Undersecretary Joseph B. Encabo and Mr. Joeben A. Tai, Chairman of the CDA and General Manager of the NHA, respectively.  The signing was witnessed by CDA Assistant Secretary and Acting Administrator Myrla B. Paradillo, CDA Deputy Administrator Ray R. Elevazo and NHA Acting Department Manager Lolita L. Mediavillo.

Among others, CDA commits to provide technical assistance in the conduct of Pre-Registration Seminars (PRS) and cooperative orientation. Assist the NHA in the possible revitalization of the operations of inactive cooperatives based on CDA records in NHA resettlement/project sites, and assist in capacitating new and existing cooperatives in accordance with the Handholding Program of the CDA.  For its part, the NHA will identify the existing cooperatives, community associations and organized groups and guilds active in NHA resettlement/project sites and provide such list to the CDA and assist in the evaluation of these as to their readiness in undertaking various programs of the CDA. – Emme Grace Alverne, CDS II, CRITD
