CDA Welcomes Kadiwa Store in Quezon City

In partnership with the Department of Agriculture (DA), the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) formally opened the KADIWA Rolling Store it will be hosting last October 19, 2022.  The rolling store provides fresh farm and fish products at affordable prices.

Representing USec. Kristine Y. Evangelista of the Department of Agriculture (DA), Market Specialist III Joyce Mojia Bengo said that the “KADIWA market is expected to benefit consumers in Metro Manila primarily through lower price offers, compared to that of usual public market prices.”

For his part, Chairman Joseph B. Encabo expressed his support for the success of the project and encouraged participants to patronize locally-sourced food items at reasonable prices. “Sa mga kapwa ko kawani ng gobyerno, sana ay suportahan natin ang mga produkto ng ating mga magsasaka at mangingisda. Tayo po dapat ang manguna sa pagtangkilik sa kanilang produkto”

During the Opening of the KADIWA Store, the participating farmer-groups, the Agripreneur Farmers Association and Progressive Farmers of Zambales, recorded sales of PhP 7,415.00 and PhP 12,537.00, respectively. The main goal of the DA KADIWA project is to bring access to consumers directly from farmers and fisherfolks in the country.

The KADIWA store’s successful launch was done in partnership with the Department of Agriculture. Also gracing the ceremonial ribbon cutting are the CDA officials Asec. Pendatun B. Disimban and Asec. Virgilio R. Lazaga, MD.

The store is located at the CDA Head Office with address at 827 Aurora Boulevard, Brgy. Immaculate Conception, Cubao, Quezon City. The KADIWA stall is open every Thursday. – Lester John Molina
