Quezon City. The German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development dispatched a mission to the Philippines to conduct validation of the proposed project entitled, “Conflict, Cilmate and Disaster Sensitive Reform of Spatial Planning and Management in the Philippines”.
Ms. Ellie Matthaei met with the Officials of the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) led by CDA Board of Administrators from Mindanao, Paisal I. Cali and Abdulsalam A. Guinomla, Executive Director Ray Elevazo and Chief Pedro T. Defensor, Jr. on February 16, 2017 at CDA Central Office, Cubao, Quezon City for a stakeholders meeting and exchange of ideas. The meeting aimed to integrate a need-based project implementation approach to combat poverty and conflict in the region through strengthening support mechanisms to cooperatives in the areas of: cooperative governance, compliance to reportorial requirements, land tenure, rural development and developmental initiatives towards improving livelihood, productivity and increase income of small farmers. The proposed project will be implemented by the German Development Cooperation (GIZ) based in Manila, Philippines. The project shall be in complementation with the proposed project being developed by the European Union (EU) on, “Job Creation Programme in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM)”.
