Tacurong City, June 25, 2025 — In a significant step towards fortifying the cooperative movement in Region 12, the Head of the Education, Advocacy, and Union of Cooperatives (EAU) Cluster, ASec. Abdulsalam A. Guinomla attended the regional event titled “Strengthening Cooperative Union Leadership and Advocacy in Region 12: Converging National Leadership and Regional Action for Empowered Cooperative Unions.”
Held in Tacurong City, the event brought together cooperative union leaders, members, and stakeholders across the region for a day of meaningful dialogue and capacity building. The morning session focused on engagement with the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA). CDA officials provided updates on national strategies and policy directives, emphasizing the government’s commitment to strengthening cooperative governance, leadership development, and advocacy mechanisms.
During the dialogue, the CDA and participants discussed the current status of the EAU Region 12 Cluster, highlighting key achievements, ongoing programs, and challenges faced by local cooperative unions. The discussion also covered local initiatives, aligning them with national priorities to ensure cohesive and sustainable development for cooperatives in the region.
The Head of the EAU Cluster expressed appreciation for the strong turnout and active participation from cooperative leaders. He underscored the importance of unity and collaboration between national agencies and regional stakeholders to amplify the voice of cooperatives in policymaking and local governance.
