In line with the partnership of the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) with the Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation (RCBC), through a Memorandum of Understanding signed on July 2, 2022.  The partnership aims to promote financial inclusion to the cooperatives through financial technology and innovative digital tools. Thus, the CDA Region 1 Extension Office conducted an information drive through the Koop Balitaan entitled “RCBC Programs and Services” held on August 12, 2022 via Zoom and it was also livestreamed via CDA Regional Office Facebook live. This webinar had a total of 116 participants.

The RCBC introduces innovative digital tools and financial services to raise awareness and access of cooperatives as well as its members, particularly those in underserved and unbanked areas. These financial products and services are very appropriate and timely in our current situation, and the trend is for these to serve as an additional service for their cooperative members. It will also generate additional revenue for the cooperative by serving as a bill payment, money transfer, and withdrawal facility.
