2022 COOPERATIVE MONTH CELEBRATION IN ILOCOS NORTE

The Cooperative Development Authority, in collaboration with the Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte and city/municipal LGUs, is assisting and extending out to cooperatives in any way feasible, including trainings.

Training is the process of acquiring new skills, attitudes, and information with the goal of increasing productivity and preparing individuals to meet the challenges of operating a cooperative firm or enterprises. To celebrate Cooperative Month 2022, the CDA and LGUs conducted mandatory trainings for various micro cooperatives to ensure compliance with MC 2015-09.

 The CDA, in collaboration with the Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte and the Municipality of Bacarra, conducted Fundamentals of Cooperatives and Cooperative Governance and Management trainings for two hundred one (201) cooperative officers from the municipalities of Bacarra, Badoc, Vintar, and Pasuquin on October 10-11 in BUSAN, Bacarra, Ilocos Norte.

Correspondingly, the CDA, in partnership with the Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte and the City Government of Batac, conducted Fundamentals of Cooperatives and Cooperative Governance and Management trainings for sixty (60) cooperative officers from Batac City and the municipality of Badoc on October 17-18 at the 2nd Floor Batac Riverside Building.

Moreover, in collaborative efforts with the Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte and the municipality of Marcos, conducted Fundamentals of Cooperatives and Cooperative Governance and Management trainings for eighty-three (83) cooperative officers from Pinili, Batac City, Marcos, and Banna on October 19-22 at the Marcos Municipal Auditorium.

In the province of Ilocos Norte, Cooperative Month 2022 is commemorated to recognize the importance of cooperatives as a mechanism for poverty alleviation and economic development. The Ilocos Norte Provincial Government, in partnership with the CDA, held a Provincial Cooperative Month Celebration Culmination Program and Awarding Ceremonies. Outstanding Cooperative (Micro) – Balatong MPC, Outstanding Cooperative (Small) – Catuguing MPC, Outstanding Cooperative (Medium) – Bagnos MPC, Outstanding Cooperative (Large) – San Joaquin MPC, Percent Increase in Assets – Bacarra MPC, and Percent Increase in ROI – Catuguing MPC were the recipients of awards. Three municipalities/cities were recognized for having the largest number of conforming cooperatives. Laoag City comes first, followed by Vintar and Pagudpud.

Laoag City also commemorated cooperative month by recognizing outstanding cooperatives in the city
