Bantog Samahang Nayon Multipurpose Cooperative: Bringing Care to the Community through Medical-Dental Mission

In a steadfast commitment to social responsibility, Bantog Samahang Nayon Multipurpose Cooperative, in partnership with the Conrado F. Estrella Regional Medical and Trauma Center, Rosales, Pangasinan, has once again demonstrated the power of collective action through its latest medical-dental mission. Held on April 29, 2025 at the cooperatives’ office premises located in Brgy. Bantog, Asingan, Pangasinan, this outreach program provided essential healthcare services to underserved members of the community, reinforcing the cooperative’s dedication to improving lives.

Empowering Communities Through Health

Funded through the cooperative’s Community Development Fund (CDF), the initiative served as a beacon of hope for many individuals in need of medical and dental care. Doctors, nurses, and dentists from the Conrado F. Estrella Regional Medical and Trauma Center (CFERMTC), Rural Health Unit (RHU), Asingan and Optical Clinic, volunteered their expertise to provide free consultations, treatments, and preventive healthcare services. From basic medical check-ups to tooth extractions and oral hygiene education, the mission addressed crucial healthcare gaps, ensuring that beneficiaries received quality care.

Expanding Access to Essential Services

In addition to general consultations, dental care and optical care, the program extended its services to include:

  • Laboratory tests to facilitate early detection of health conditions.
  • Electrocardiogram (ECG) screenings for heart health assessments.
  • X-ray services to aid in accurate medical diagnoses.

By providing these additional services, the cooperative ensured that beneficiaries not only received immediate care but also the means to detect and manage potential health concerns early.

Impact in Numbers

The mission successfully served hundreds of individuals, reflecting its broad reach and significance:

  • 150+ patients benefited from medical consultations and necessary prescriptions.
  • 100 children underwent safe and supervised circumcision procedures.
  • 70 individuals availed free eye examinations, with 50 recipients receiving customized reading glasses.
  • 30 dental patients received treatments, including extractions and oral health education.
  • More than a dozen of individuals accessed laboratory tests, ECG screenings, and X-ray services, ensuring comprehensive medical assessments.

These figures underscore the cooperative’s commitment to making essential healthcare accessible to all.

Voices from the Community

For many beneficiaries, this mission was more than just a service—it was an opportunity to regain wellness and confidence.

“I haven’t seen a doctor in years due to financial struggles,” shared Maria, a mother of three. “This program gave me the chance to have a proper check-up and receive medication without worrying about costs. It’s truly a blessing.”

The circumcision program also brought relief to many families.

“I wanted my sons to undergo circumcision, but private clinics were too costly,” said Lino, a father of two. “This program allowed him to receive this procedure safely, with professional medical care.”

Meanwhile, the eye check-up service helped many individuals improve their daily lives:

“I’ve struggled to read signs and books for years,” shared Pacita, a grandmother who received free reading glasses. “These glasses have changed my life—I can finally read clearly again.”

Voices from the Organizers

The success of this mission was made possible by the collective efforts of volunteers, healthcare professionals, and cooperative members.

“It is inspiring to see how cooperation can create meaningful change,” said Zeny Nambatac, a BOD member of Bantog Samahang Nayon Multipurpose Cooperative. “Health is a fundamental right, and we are proud to use our Community Development Fund to serve the community.”

“Preventive care is crucial, and today, we helped many individuals take that first step toward better health,” shared one of the attending physicians. “We hope they continue to prioritize their well-being.”

The Spirit of Cooperation in Action

Beyond the medical and dental services, the program underscored the true essence of cooperation. Members of Bantog Samahang Nayon Multipurpose Cooperative , volunteers, and healthcare professionals worked hand in hand to organize the event, distribute medicines, and guide patients through the process. Their dedication exemplified the cooperative principle of concern for the community, transforming words into meaningful action.

A Future of Continued Service

Bantog Samahang Nayon Multipurpose Cooperative remains steadfast in its commitment to community welfare. Looking ahead, plans for future outreach programs, including expanded medical services and educational initiatives, are already in motion. Through responsible allocation of the Community Development Fund, the cooperative continues to be a pillar of support for those who need it most.

Through programs like this medical-dental mission, Bantog Samahang Nayon Multipurpose Cooperative proves that collective action and a strong commitment to social responsibility can truly uplift and empower communities.
