CDA JOINS LINGAYEN DAGUPAN TRANSPORT COOPERATIVE IN THE LAUNCHING OF ITS 38 MODERNIZED PUJ UNITS

The Cooperative Development Authority Regional Office I is headed by Dir. Josefina B. Bitonio joined the Lingayen Dagupan Transport Cooperative to launch its 38 Modernized PUJ Units under the Public Utility Vehicle Modernization Program (PUVMP) today, 30 August 2021.

President Rodrigo Duterte, through the Department of Transportation,  the Public Utility Vehicle Modernization Program (PUVMP) in 2017 to make the country’s public transportation system efficient, safe, reliable, affordable, and environmentally friendly.

To create awareness to the public, the  Lingayen Dagupan Transport Cooperative will provide  “libreng sakay” courtesy of LTFRB of their  30 units that will ply the route from Dagupan City to Lingayen From September to December 2021  and another for eight units that will ply the route from Dagupan City to Sual. The modernized PUJ units are equipped with Euro-4 engines and accessories such as dashcams, CCTV, speed limiters, Automatic Fare Collection System (AFCS), and WiFi. (Maricel DG. Ruedas, CDS-II)

The launching was attended by LTFRB Region 1 Chief Transportation Development Officer Atty. Anabel A. Marzan-Nullar, CDA Regional Director Josefina B. Bitonio, Lingayen Municipal Mayor Leopoldo N. Bataoil, representatives of the Local Government Units, Development Bank of the Philippines, Hyundai Motors, Hino Motors Philippines, and the officers, management staff, employees, and members of the Lingayen Dagupan Transport Cooperative headed by BOD Chairperson Petronilo Castillo.
