The CDA Region I Extension Office recently conducted a two-day registration and legal cliniquing, counseling, technical and legal advice and assistance at Speaker Pro Tempore Francisco I. Ortega Convention Center, Brgy. Sevilla, San Fernando City, La Union to help registered cooperatives of La Union solve their issues involving their compliance with the CDA and other cooperative concerns.
Consistent with the mandate of the CDA to ensure growth and viability of cooperatives, a Compliance Caravan was held to provide ‘One-Stop Shop’ of the services of the CDA to resolve cooperative registration and legal issues and deliver technical and legal assistance in a fair and speedy manner and to bring the CDA services closer to the cooperatives.
The registration and legal cliniquing were administered by Sr. CDS Filipina Porio and Legal Section Head Atty. Katherine F. Ellorin and CDS I Edgar Ibuan, in collaboration with PCDS La Union Constancia De Guzman, CDS II Christine Joy Combes, City/Municipal Cooperative Development Officers and the Provincial Government of La Union.
Around 30 cooperative members were given advice and assistance on how to settle their registration and legal challenges they are facing on their compliance.
