The CDA Region 1 Extension Office, in partnership with the Provincial Population Cooperative and Livelihood Office (PPCLDO) Pangasinan, conducted a one-day Orientation on Reportorial Requirements (ORR) for cooperatives in the province last March 22, 2022 at the Pangasinan Training and Development Center II, Lingayen, Pangasinan.
Ms. Filipina H. Porio, Sr. CDS of Registration Unit discussed the registration of all registered cooperatives with the Authority prior to September 1, 2020 in the Electronic Cooperative Registration Information System (E-CoopRIS). All cooperatives shall be registered in the CoopRIS to be able to submit the required reports on the Cooperative Assessment Information System or CAIS.
The Cooperative Assessment Information System, or CAIS, is a new CDA system that allows cooperatives to encode and submit mandatory reports online. This implies that cooperatives are not obliged to physically submit the reports to the CDA. This means that cooperatives do not have to bring the reports physically to the CDA. Ms. Arlenne C. Espinoza, acting Sr. CDS of the Supervision and Examination Section explained the step by step procedure in the submission of Annual Mandatory Reports using the CAIS. She advised the cooperative compliance officers that all reports covering FY 2021 operations shall be submitted using the new system.
The resource speakers elucidated that the objective of the new online system is to be able to determine the level of maturity of cooperatives in terms of governance, finance and social performance.
The Pangasinan Technical Personnel, headed by PCDS Mylene M. Mazo assured the cooperative officers that they will assist in the online submission of all Mandatory Reports using the CAIS. The Cooperative Annual Progress Report (CAPR) and its attachments, as well as Audited Financial Statements, are required in order for cooperatives to obtain a Certificate of Compliance (COC) from the Authority.
The Chief of the PPCLDO, Mr. Elsworth Gonzales, participated in the activity and expressed his appreciation to the CDA employees for educating the cooperative officers on the process in the CoopRIS and CAIS. He also thanked everyone who took the time to attend to the orientation.
The CDA R1 EO employees, spearheaded by acting Director Alberto A. Sabarias, extended gratitude and appreciation to the PPCLDO Pangasinan for this partnership and expressed optimism for future activities to greatly assist the cooperatives in the province.
